I want it to feel like we are all learning and singing together, experiencing culture shocks and listening to genres for the first time. That's why in the intro of the podcast I encourage you to "come along for the ride." Because that's what this is, really - an awesome journey of learning to connect with people all over the world and using music to do so.
Defying Musical Borders
Emily Esperanza is a highly motivated and passionate young artist with a commitment to multicultural media. She got her start as a singer/songwriter from a young age, writing original music with acoustic folk influence, and releasing her EP Letters to Myself in 2021 under the name Emily Hope. Continuing to discover new musical influences, she fell in love with the diverse world of Latin music during the COVID-19 pandemic, and, with newfound time on her hands, put herself to work learning Spanish from scratch. Specializing in the Argentinian culture and dialect, Emily soon was able to speak - and sing - in the language with ease. She found that music is one of the best ways to learn a language, and furthermore, to understand an unfamiliar culture. To explore her new passion, she made the trip to Buenos Aires in 2023, studying at a local music school and exploring the world of Argentine national rock. Her most recent release, "When I Tell You," recorded at Lakehouse Studios in Asbury Park, NJ in collaboration with Blue Hawk Records, brings a bit of Latin America to the East Coast. Featuring folksy acoustic guitar blended with unique Latin trumpet and angelic vocals, this single follows the development of a romance - from "me gustas" all the way to "te amo."
A Global Outlook
As Emily explored her own musical style, she also grew passionate about sharing the gift of language learning with others. She started to translate her favorite music from English to Spanish and vice versa, and post her bilingual covers online. She takes great pride in exposing her followers to music they otherwise would not have heard, and in demonstrating the power of music to unite people and promote cultural acceptance.
Music & Beyond
Emily continues to expand her musical horizons and grow her career in multilingual media. She enjoys sharing her journey learning Spanish on her podcast, La Gringa Bilingua, where she shares travel stories and also interviews others around the world who have unique backgrounds in language and the arts. In addition to her online presence, she studies Spanish and Communications at Monmouth University in New Jersey, where she continues to work on creation of bilingual and translated media. She hopes you learn something new from her content, and encourages you to reach out and let her know how she can help you bring the value of bilingual media to your business.
